I do this most years, it makes interesting reading I think so I've done this years too for anyone who's interested:-

This is based on my end of year accounts for 2008/9

Treatment & Percentage of Business
Basic Manicure - 45%
P&W Rebalance - 33%
Single Repairs - 8%
Full Set T&O P&W - 5%
Polish Change - 3%
Single Colour Rebalance - 3%
Full Set NNO P&W - 1%
Infill - 1% (I rarely do infills preferring a full rebalance)
Removal - 1%

Yet again it proves, certainly for me, basic manicures and routine rebalancing is the core of my business. As I do so little nail art I've just incorporated those with the 'main' service they were having at the time.

Retail Sales by Item
Solar Oil 1/4 oz - 36%
Solar Oil Refills - 14% (as of Jan 2009 I launched a 'green' incentive)
Gift Vouchers - 9%
CND Enamels - 7%
Solar Silk - 7%
Northern Lights Top coat - 4%
Scentsations 2oz - 4%
Solar Balm Tins - 4%
Stickey Basecoat - 4%
Ridgefiller, topcoats, etc fill the remaining - 11%

My 'green' incentive is try to reduce waste if possible so recycling the glass bottles of Solar Oil seemed a good place to start by offering a refill service. Going well so far as you can see.

% of Business Per Month
April 08 - 7%
May 08 - 8%
June 08 - 9%
July 08 - 10%
August 08 - 11%
September 08 -8%
October 08 - 8%
November 08 - 7%
December 08 - 11%
January 09 - 4%
February 09 - 8%
March 09 - 9%

I was encouraged by the steading increase in business for the first 5 months, as usual January was dead, but was pleasantly surprised at August staying quite busy.

Hope this is of interest to someone or possibly of use to those just starting out

Wow that is really helpful. Especially the monthly breakdown. I'm currently setting up a new business, and this is really helpful.

Thanks for sharing.
