Im sure Im not alone in this and im sure it applies to other gels and l&p's as well, no matter how hard I try I cant get a really good smile line and always manage to have it too high up the nail so the balance doesnt look good. I read and read to no avail:irked:

Anyone have any tips...please....pretty please

My sculps, im really pleased with, its just my french!

May sound like a stupid question but are you using a Calgel white Teresac? The reason I ask is that I personally find the calgel whites (including comp white) shrink so quickly before going under the lamp, that the smile line moves and becomes a little distorted.

Have you tried using another white with less shrinkage?

hey girl, i am also qualified with calgel from south africa, its the best gel for your nail, if you in london i can help you , pop round i give u tips lessons.
Its all a nack practice is all you need, this thyupe gel is very gooey in a semse its not like the other gels which can be painted on, you need do it in one sweep not little bits cos if you play with it too muchit bubbles and you get horrible rippled look on your gel tips after curing. back brush the smile line if you worried its too flat.
But i know your pain when i started out it took ages but once you get it its so easy i do set in half hour after tips blended in ofcourse.
also the shrinking is cos of the humidity, and in drier climates it better, do 2 nails at a time then set while other in uv lamp do another 2 on other hand. PREP is so important calgaurd and buff, !! comp white is best looks the best in my opinion.

Have you tried this method, (totorial from Bagpuss) its the way I do it with Calgel and it works great for me. xx Try doing two very thin coats with the ccgw as this can wrinkle if applied too thickly. 01 is easier I find.

Smiles with Brisa Paint on white
