I'm going a makeup trial next weekend for a wedding

In my initial consultation with the bride she made it clear that no one needed camouflage makeup ( health questionnaires were filled out etc ) and so quoted accordingly and taken deposits for the trial and wedding day to secure day.

She has now come back to me saying that her mum has rosacia and will need this covering up.

It also turns out that get mum is not in as good health as she is making out as I keep getting calls by the MOB asking if had 'certain health problems' would prevent her have makeup.

Many people on salon geek will know I hate being lied too especially when it concerns health problems or money lol

Im a trained and qualified camouflage makeup practitioner and use Veil camouflage products.

I feel that I shouldn't be including this in the £40 wedding day makeup I'm currently charging her, as pro camouflage products are not cheap and it take more time to apply camouflage makeup properly.

I'm not sure what to really

Perhaps your client wasn't aware that camouflage make up was required for rosacea ? Perhaps she though it was only for birthmarks or tattoos ?

Depending in the rosacea it might be possible to just use a good concealer? My mum has it quite bad over her nose / cheeks but it covers fine with concealer I don't use any specialist products and it doesn't take me any longer than usual. (Well maybe 5 mins but nothing major)

If you are worried about any health aspects make it clear to your client now that they must divulge any health issues or they may risk you being unable to do their make the morning of the wedding and you can't take responsibility for that. Once they hear that I'm sure they will come clean :)

Personally I would say that you now need to allow extra time and for different products used for camouflage and there is a slight additional charge to cover this as it's a more involved service, it sounds to me as if it is known that perhaps extra care is needed as you have been asked questions regarding suitability. That's what I would do, it seems reasonable.

I agree, I think she knows it might involve a longer/more expensive service, so just let her know you need to account for it, especially when timing is so important for bridals.x

How many of the wedding party are you booked to do?

Personally, I would be inclined to keep the charge the same if there are a number of clients, and it's just for one.

It's for two people.

I'm going to use concealer and concealer neutralisers first and see how she gets on with that, but state the benefits of camouflage makeup as something to think about
