Can bacteria or fungi survive in Gel Polish?

I know that there is a post which confirms that bacteria and fungi cannot live in nail polish because it is too volatile an environment but I was wondering if this is also true of gel polish??

This post is purely because I am very interested to know. I'm sure that it couldn't because the environment would probably be very similar to polish but would love to know if someone knows the answer to this.
