About as far South as you can get!
Hi guys, I've been thinking about this for ages now and I'm in a right pickle so wondered if anyone can help?

I'm qualified in CND acrylics (and related nail care), waxing and spray tanning, and almost finished my NVQ LII in ladies and mens hair.

My quandry is am I stretching myself and not giving the best I can to each skill set? Do I just concentrate on one thing and be happy doing it?

The thing is, I love doing it all! I am good at what I do and give each individual the best I can when they are with me no-matter which service they have come for.

I love giving someone a spectacular set of nails, I love giving someone that lovely smooth feeling once they've been waxed (although if I had to give up one service it would be waxing - I know, its bread and butter!) I love the feeling I get when a client contacts me because they want to thank me for their tan and I love cutting, colouring and styling hair . But I don't feel I give myself the chance to excel in one particular thing because I try to do it all :(

I feel torn! Help me please! I've spent a lot on different training, and each thing I do excites me in different ways, but if it means giving something up to excel in a particular field then I would.

Thanks for reading, even if you have no advice :)

Xx

Why should you give any thing up if you feel you are good at it and enjoy it? You may find over time that you become brilliant at one of these disciplines but that doesn't mean you can't continue to do all the other things.

Well done my lovely for being passionate about everything you do.

Thanks Jacquie

I think what it is, is that I read about different people excelling in one particular discipline and somehow feel I should be concentrating on one particular type of service to be the best, instead of being a Jack of all trades, Master of none!

I wish I could lead four different lives so I could master each type of service, lol!

I would say it really depends on your long term goals. Where do you want to be in five years? or ten?

If you are happy doing 'everything' and (you obviously are at the moment) why shouldn't you carry on?

If, on the other hand you see yourself specialising later on then you will need to make that decision when the time comes and when it does you will instinctively know what it is you want to do :green:

Thanks hun.

That's my problem, I just don't know! I think I'm gonna have to sit down with a pen and paper, work out pro's and con's and see where each service could potentially take me and take it from there.

i do it all and manage it...the main key thing is to be very organised xx:)

Lol! Yes! I need to be more organised! My husband is always telling me I live in chaos

It is organised chaos though :green:

I think I'll carry on and do my list(s) tomorrowand take it from there.

Thanks for all the input guys

What do you enjoy most what gives you a buzz! And do you have a treatment that your not keen on! For me its full body massage! When I see it in my book I just cringe! Hate doing them! Were as some people love them! I more of a talker my self so hate been quiet for a hour!

I used to do everything first thing I did was jack in hairdresses! Not tht I don't like it or not good at it! I jst liked beauty and nails better I still get my fix tho when doing friends and family! =)
Maybe continue to do it all for another year or so to you really deside what it is you want to do! No point droping it all for waxing to then find out 3years down the line your sick to death of it!! I'm happy doing nails and beauty atm if I had to choose I could (nails) but then id feel id miss doing facials and eyelashes but unless you HAVE to make a choice don't! Easy =) x
