Can you put Acrylic OVER Foil??

Hi everyone I am wanting to no can I put acrylic over the top of foil?

I think as long as its colour safe you are pretty right.. never used normal aliminium foil but i have used laser strands and they look good.. which i think is just coloured foil anyrate!
