Can you repair with just gel?

All the posts I found re repairing a natural nail all suggested fibreglass but having run out of it and the activator is there anything else I can use? Is it ok to just use my normal gel over the top? The break hasn't gone very far down the nail, just a smidgeon under the smile line and goes across rather than down. I'd really like to try and repair it tonight as it keeps catching.

You can use gel polish with the fiberglass instead of resin and activator. I've done this many times with both gelish and shellac.

Thanks for the reply chickafish, my only problem is I dont have the fibreglass, only the resin. Will gel on its own be ok? x

I'm sure you can do if the split isn't that big.

Hi,
You can also use a piece of tea bag to cover the split. I coat it with brush on adhesive then continue with my gel application.

Thanks for the replies girls, I'll give it a go with the tea bag lol I was a little concerned about the gel seeping through the split. xx
