Im lovin' the idea of using canes but slightly stumped about how too.....

I know you have to cut them thinly, and perhaps heat them, but what sticks them and wouldnt they be bumpy if you only put one subtle one on? Sorry if this seems like stoopid questions!

Also, what is the 'apex'?! Iv never really heard of it before - or maybe i did in training and it went over my head, or maybe it uses a different name?!:irked: Im tellin u - ur always learning with 'SalonGeek'!!!!!!!!

Hi love!

The way to use the canes is to inlay them, or put them underneath your gel or l&p.

If I am using gel, I lay down a very thin layer of clear gel, then add the canes, then cure. Then I add my builder layer of gel to build the apex.

With l&p I will use resin or nail adhesive to glue the cane to the nail plate, then I add clear l&p over top.

The apex of the nail is the highest point on the nail plate - in the center of the nail below the smile line. This is the area that takes the most stress when pressure is applied to the nail.

Hope this helps!

Hi, They are really simple, I place them in the acrylic, I either push them into the white or after the free edge has been done I put a small drop of acrylic where I want to place it, push your cane onto this area and then carry on as normal with the acrylic making sure its completly covered. ( I asume the same would apply with gel?) I havent sliced them myself as I have only bought the pre sliced ones. If you are using them with just polish I would apply one to wet polish then top cot over it, Things usually dry into the polish and dont fall off quite as easily. But they will sit higher than the nail. Hope I've helped!
