China Glaze Gelaze gels

I am using gelaze by China glaze, I love their colours and they are really glossy and pretty but they aren't lasting as long as I expect. I don't use a primer because it says you don't have to, I just buff and use scrub fresh and then apply.

I am tempted to purchase a primer and see if it will last longer using that, does anyone use gelaze and can give me some advice?

Gelaze just doesn't seem to last two full weeks. It almost seems/feels softer than other similar products. I've tried both primer and several bases and my pep is immaculate, and still it's about a 10 day wear or slightly less.
