Client's eyelashes won't take

Hi I've been a therapist for 13years now and have just got a new client and her eyelashes didn't go very dark when I tinted them. She said they do usually take a long time to develop, so I did them on my next visit and left them developing for 15minutes and they stil didn't go very dark.
I'm using combination blue/black and I've never had any problems over the years.
Has anyone got any advice?

Perhaps try pure black tint next time. Develop for 15 mins and see if you get any improvement?
Check out if she's been wearing waterproof mascara or lash glue too as that might need a thorough removal before the tint goes on
