Hello,

As far as I have been aware it is not the law to have clinical waste in salons in Scotland, I know that you do in england and wales. Can anyone confirm if this is right???

Thankyou!

Hi, when I first opened in Edinburgh I had the Environmental Health out to see me at the salon. She advised me that I should have a clinical waste contract as it was "Best Practice" however she did say she could not force it, that was at the start of this year. I'm only doing waxing and stuff, nothing with needles etc. It would probably be best to contact the local council in your area and double check x

Thankyou,

I always put my needles in a sharps box. It just seems mad that cotton wool on couch roll that has touched skin is classed as clinical waste. But we all use this at home and its fine!
