Cloudy nails- help please

Hi Geeks

Have been practising hard on my nailtrainer, but i have noticed that my finished nails are still cloudy, and it happens on people i have practised on as well as George (my trainer hand). It's a l&p application; i thought i was doing my filing and buffing properly but something is obviously wrong with what i am doing. I read on here to let the bead rest before flattening, and using pushing movements, and this has got rid of my air bubble problem (so thanks for that!) I have made sure my brush is clean, and the monomer is clean, can you help please?
(I am using Zetek products which i was trained with)

I don't know these products but sometimes if you haven't got your product ratio right this will happen. If you are working too dry then the cloudiness will be the powder showing. Maybe someone who has used these products could shed some light.

I found I had this problem doing nails in a room that had a slight draught. I make sure all windows and doors are closed.

Thanks for your help - much appreciated. I did another set today, out of draughts, on my trainer hand, working with the ratio a little wetter, and this has improved the general appearance, but I am still having problems with the area just below the smile line. I am using natural tips with a full well primarily to nail my blending technique, and I was pleased that the blending seemed to go ok, and the line disappeared, but once I applied the l&p, and dried, filed and buffed, you could see the contact area looking white and patchy underneath. This also happens when I apply l&p to my own nails. Sorry if i haven't explained this very well, but I am determined not to let this beat me. I shall probably change systems soon to something a bit more well known, but I am pretty certain it is my technique that's the problem!

Hi i used to get this on my nail trainer when i havent quite blended the tips enough on the edge of the smile. It looks a bit like a cloudy shadow. I just use a very light file or buffer to remove this. I would think this would show up before you put your l&p on though. I noticed it on mine when i sanatized the nails before applying the overlay....

Thanks, yes that's what it looks like, but to be honest i never know quite when to stop when i am blending that bit ! I thought i was guilty of over blending if anything! i know that sometimes the blending line starts to crumble a bit...

Me too!! The tutorial on here helped. It says you should blen from the free edge down to the seem..... if you do the EN course it teaches you the other way which i dont think works so well
