Hi All

Just want to have a bit of a rant!!

I ordered some CND kit from a well known UK distributor last week including an l&p starter kit as it worked out cheaper for me rather than buying the items separately. When I received my order, the nail enamel and sculpting forms were missing from the starter pack.

I checked the website (which is where I placed the order) and sure enough there is a picture of the kit including the missing items. When I asked if they could send them to me, I'm told that because the manufacturer have changed the kit basically it's my tough luck!! Now, I know we're only talking about a nail enamel and some forms here so this is not about the money, but it is about the principle. Surely they can't advertise a kit including this, that and the other and then not supply the items listed?

The customer services girl is directing me towards some wording in their catalogue saying that they can't be held responsible for changes that the manufacturer makes, but then as far as I'm concerned they should be on top of their game and change their descriptions online. Besides, I didn't buy from the catalogue, I bought online - and nowhere on their website can I find any wording of the sort.

I'm absolutely livid, as if I had known that the kit didn't include everything they listed, I may as well have bought from CND directly. I feel really misled and won't be buying from them again.

Thanks for reading this far and listening to my rant!!

Hi im sure if you phone Leeds CND they may be able to help you out on this. If the picture states that is what you get in the kit surely you should get it, or they should change their catalouge/internet discription!
The Leeds group are fab so kind and helpfull worth a try!

Good luck let us know how you get on x

So why didn't you buy from CND direct (well, the official UK distributor who are Sweet Squared)? If you buy from official sources you have comeback when things aren't as you expect. If you bought online you didn't buy from S2 so you are buying from an unauthorised source - the products are possibly old and probably illegally imported.

Sorry you feel ripped off but there's a lesson in this - buy from your authorised distributor and you wont have problems like this.

I bought the items from the recognised CND sub-distributor in the UK (recognised by S2), not from an unauthorised source. I did this specifically because I do not want to buy inferior quality products via the internet.

The reason I didn't buy from CND directly was simply because I already had an account with this beauty supplier and I needed some other non-CND bits too, so didn't want to pay for postage twice.

It's just a point of principle. They should supply the items listed for the kit.

I would call S2 direct to check what should be in the kit, it's possible it's human error somewhere along the line, but until you speak to S2 direct you won't know.

I know you're seething and rightly so but we can't help other than suggest possible solutions.

Give someone a call to check then you'll know for sure

Ahhh I see! In that case I would contact S2 and tell them what's happened, they can then give you the official line...... If one of their sub-distributors is short-changing people I'm sure they'd like to know about it.

Oh, sorry girls!! Just letting off a bit of steam!

I'm so not worried about a nail enamel, especially when other people in the industry are really struggling right now to make ends meet.

OK, I'm calm now!!!

xx

I know how frustrating it can be, but it can be pretty frustrating for us at times too! Reprinting the entire catalogue because a supplier changes contents in a kit would not only be impossible, but mucho expensive! Most catalogue suppliers will have wording along the lines of "contents may vary" or similar verbiage to try and communicate that "hey, this can be out of our control!".

Hope you understand :)

If you are in the UK you must buy your Shellac from Sweet Squared or Ellisons. Do you have an account with either of those?
