CND lamp not working, help!

I'm on my 3rd lamp in 2.5 years! I've been using Shellac since the beginning and my first lamp died after 1 year because the plug socket in the lamp fell inside and couldn't be used. My second lamp died after 1 year when it started to make a crackling noise and the bulbs (only 50hrs used) stopped working 1 by 1.

I'm now nervously using my 3rd one, every day I live in fear that it too will die. Not sure what to do if it does though because Ketan and CND London were my rock.

Has anyone else had more than 2 lamps in such a sort period of time?

I've had my original lamp from day one (3years now) and I now own two more. If Ketan was your rock, then you can now be assured that S2 will fill the gap that he has left. They will be happy to serve your every need!

people if u have the same go to a specialist and ask him to see the transformator. my specialist took thermosomething on transformator and twisted it so he excluded thermodefendance like that ) but it started working after!
all of the fuses were ok. there are about three fuses // strange

This should have been a no brainer, I'm sorry. It's common knowledge that north american volts are lower the uk and European. You are very lucky you didn't destroy your lamp!

Can I ask why you bought a lamp through a us supplier?? You have many ones closer to you and would be there if anything happened to your lamp plus you wouldn't have had this problem to begin with!

As I just got done with school thay still have about 35hrs left on them, BUT when my lamp comes on 2 bulbs on the left hand side do not come on for about 5-8 sec after the others have. So I cure 10sec longer for each step. I really do not want to replace it with another Shellac lamp. I am Waiting till CND comes out with a LED light??? Anyone know how long that will be?

I personally hope they put their time and money and energy into something else before a lamp that uses LED.

I love the Shellac Lamp; it works at the speed I work ... My appointments are scheduled for a very reasonable amount of time ... No one that uses an led lamp works any faster than I do and their clients are in the chair for the same amount of time, so I really don't see the great advantage of having an led lamp or paying out for one. Just my opinion.

Obviously this is a very old thread but I feel very guilty that I didn't read all the responses of help as was a bit of a newbie when I posted!

Hi all,

Was in a blind panic earlier today when my CND lamp stopped working and made a loud buzzing noise, halfway through my client's second coat argh!! Onto Salon Geek and quickly did a search for CND lamp not working and voila got my answer within 2 mins!!

Just as my lamp was nearing a year old, I replaced the bulbs even though there was over 30 hours remaining but I didn't reset the timer to 100hrs!!

Its on days like this (and many others) that I am grateful for the advice & support that comes hand in hand with :Love:Salon Geek:Love: !!

The less time the clients hands are under the light the more time they have to fiddle and move about while you are painting the other hand which is never a good thing! So I agree, when using for clients, the lamp is just great as it is.
