I was wondering if you can use a colour gel over a natural nail, like you do gel toes?
So not actually building the nail up, just putting a thin coat on.
I was told by my trainer that you can only do it on toes......why is this?
I have a few clients asking about just getting a colour over their natural nail and have no idea what to tell them
Thanks

Of course you can ... that is what ALL these soak off gels are for ... that is why so many like them .. they are a no brainer they are so easy .. just paint it on .. no building for strength because they are for people who already have natural nails and do not need enhancement.

Using soak off coloured gels is for adding colour that is durable and instantly dry.

Like anything else they do vary in quality and longevity. I have been testing quite a few coloured gels recently and many DO tend to separate at the free edge starting at the corners despite capping etc. Some shrink back on curing way more than others. Make sure you get a good brand and the right training to use it well.

oh yay, that is great. I thought it was weird that you could use them on the toes and not on fingers. I wonder why my teacher told me you couldnt. We didnt use soak off gels in school, maybe thats why.
Thanks Geeg

Just make sure it IS a soak off you are using in this way on fingernails.

Buff off gels do not last as well on natural nails as the soak off gels as the soak off gels are more flexible for fingernails which are under more stress than toenails.

oh okay maybe thats why.
