Sorry, this may be a long one.

I've finally decided to go for it, and enter a comp (or 2) at pb in oct. I've downloaded rules from the website for the photographic comp, and part of it says to research past entrants nails to see what type of things have been done before so you're not repeating them. So where am I supposed to find pictures? I've looked on here, but have only found a few (all fabulous) so where else am I too look? Or does anyone have any pictures what they have entered previously, that they can share?

I have planned out the type of nail I'd like to do, and parts of the background details, so just want to check really that nothing similar has been done before.

Also, when doing the step-by-step, do you include photographs of each stage? And if so, do you have to be in the picture or do you stay out of it? Common sence would say you need to be in a picture to prove its you doing the work, but then if you're in the picture, how can blind judging take place?

And I assume that shape & length of the nail can be up to me, as long as it suits the model/theme?

Arghhh i'm so confused! I have tried searching, but I can't find the info i'm looking for...or i'm not searching in the right place.

I did have more questions too, but I cant remember them off the top of my head.

Bumpity bumpity bump!

Anyone?

Scratch magazine usually publishes pics of all the entrants to the photo comps. Part of your score is originality so that is why your theme needs to be researched.

Email scratch and see if you can have a look on their website or request some old copies with the images in them. And subscribe to the magazine!!

The amin thing for photo comp is your theme. If you have a strong striking image, you're already half way there. Of course length, shape etc can be to suit your model but in keeping with your theme also. Step by steps need to be a close up of the nail you're working on rather than you doing the actual nails.
Good luck hon, hope to see you there, make sure you introduce yourself to people, its a really friendly group and everyone cheers each other on!! Well done for taking the plunge xx
