Hi everyone...
I am dipping a toe in slowly, so please don't bite, and i apologise now if this is is posted incorrectly or not following how things are done.. I am new here! :o But could really do with some advice...

I have read so many of your threads and info, and the wealth of info here and your combined knowledge is fantastic... but am still confused!

I have my VTCT certificate in nails, level 2.. and with that got my VTCT Health & Safety level 3. I also have several other certificates in manicure, nail art, gel and acrylic nail systems. I use OPI, Cuccio and am desperate to embark on the shellac if i can...

Oh God am waffling.. apologies.

Have been out the industry for some time, starting over and need insurance and would like membership to a professional body too... But which one?? I am so confused so any advice would be greatly appreciated before i commit. HABIA? ANT (are they still running?) BABTAC, The Guild? Professional beauty? Am i eligible to join and who i should go with for insurance. I have googled and read loads of threads and still don't know what to do... and a really ignorant question, but is the VTCT the same as the NVQ?

Thank you so much in advance

The Guild can offer you £2 million Public, Product and Treatment liability cover. You will be eligible to join with the qualifications you hold, and we can cover you to work at home, mobile or in a salon. Our annual fee includes insurance and membership, and you can read all about our membership benefits at Beauty Guild : Membership Benefits - Beauty Guild.

You can join us online or by calling 0845 2177 383, and if you quote Geek as a referral code, you will get a £10 discount.

If you need any further information, feel free to PM me, or give us a call.

Thank you for replying, that's great and will have a look. Much appreciated.

I've joined with BABTAC they are really good, have a good look around and compare all the companies that's what I did hth's xxx

I am wondering if any of them cover my products and equipment? I obviously won't have insurance for my salon as I am mobile so won't have one. I don't want to start adding this to my house insurance and don't know if my car insurance will cover it either. Even if it does I would rather have it all together in my beauty insurance.

Does anyone know if any of them cover this? I know salon gold will, but it'll double the premium!

It's not automatically covered, but most insurance companies can offer you an extension to cover your equipment.
