Myself and my colleagues tried to create a straight up perm, using normal eyelash perming rods. I've very long eyelashes but very straight and perming then normally always made me flick back to my eyelids, looked good but was annoying till it dropped a little. I'd seen the lvl lashes but it quite expensive for something we already do just slightly differently. So we thought we'd try do a straight up perm, and it worked brilliantly!! We used a rod slightly smaller than you would normally chose and put just a thin line of perm solution along the bottom curve of the rod near the base of the lash. This gave my lashes a wide awake upwards perm with no curl at the tips and looks fantastic!

Although bad side, for some reason unknown to us, my eyelids reacted to what i think must have been the rod and are all swollen! They were a bit itchy during the treatment and started burning towards the end but my lashes look fabulous so cant complain! All for experimentation!! lol

Has anyone else tried this or got any other good tips for eyelash perming as i think its a very undersold treatment!!

I just use the biggest rollers available to get a straight but 'lifted' lash - which is why the LVL didn't appeal to me either.

If you really spread the lashes out with a cocktail stick you can get a more volumious look too.
