Looking for some critiques on this set of gel nails. I had to use tips because she had no free edge. I'm working on my technique right now (I've been in nail school for 3 months now, graduating end of Jan). I'm having problems with apex and side walls being too boxy along with thickness (always too thick it seems).

well 1st the best thing for you to do is make sure you learn to use forms, then you will never have to use tips if you don't want to :). It does not seem to me you have enough product for your apex. you want it to slope from Zone one UP to zone 2 and back down to zone 3. You don't have much of a slope at all, more of a hump at the tip, you want it to be more like this Beauty Me to You..: Acrylic Nail In-fill Tutorial I understand you don't want it to be bulky but you also need it make sure you have strength in the right spots.
