Cutting down free edge????

This seems like a silly question but Ill never know the answer until I ask I suppose!
If a client is using acrylic enhancements to help them grow their nails etc but when attaching the tip they already have a little more natural free edge, is it ok to NOT cut the nail down like normal (normal as in this is what I was trained to do) and apply the tip-obviously when using a tip without a 'stop point'???

Yes that is fine to do or you could do away with the tip all together and just do a natural nail overlay hth
