Hi All,

I've just hopped over from another board. I'm looking for some advice.

Im a natural 6/7, my current stylist uses 6.2 Loreal Richesse to do a full head of colour, but I find that even with the right care this fades fast leaving me with really red tones in my hair. I had blonde highlights for years, and I'm thinking of going lighter for a change.

But ringing around no one seems to be keen to take my hair on..... I'm looking to go towards a lighter brown/blonde in one appointment and avoid the ginger stage....which I absolutely HATE!

I know this could involve a lot of time, and expense. I keep getting told that the ginger stage is inevitable - surely its just a whole head of highlights and a toner?????

AM I JUST BEING UNREALISTIC???

You need to go into a salon and have a free consultation for them to see your hair first. But a 6 isnt actually a dark base so i couldnt see it being a problem espesh if its a semi. Ring around a few salons n pop in x

I have been into see a couple, and they just go "hmmmm" and don't like to commit, and then tell me that I'd need to have it highlighted, wait out the ginger stage and then come to have it highlighted again in a few weeks time.

I live in a semi rural environment, so don't have a lot of salon options....

Am I missing something here??? Would a toner not sort out the brassiness of the highlights?

Have any of them done a strand test to see just how warm it comes up?

Have they done a strand test? They will be able to see the result they will get.

I think you need to suss out some colour specialists it's a relatively easy job without going too warm.
