Designs with Shellac?

I've been doing shellac for awhile now but all I've done is the plain colors, layering different colors or putting a loose glitter on top. Can you do designs with these? If so.. Can I use regular acrylic paint (like I do with acrylics) or do I have to use the shellac?

I did some Cath Kidston effect nails a while ago and used shellac, CND colours and acrylic paint for the design. Was fine and lasted really well. I know a few other geeks use acrylics too, there have been quite a lot of topics on this before. I believe some also use gel paints. HTH :hug:
