I am a homebased salon and have little experience of visiting high street salons so dont know how they display their products. What do people use to display their retail item? I specialise in Semi Perm EE and want to display mascaras, sealers etc,

Help....... :green:

Hi
Id do some resarch go into various salons and see how they set their retail. Also wen u buy retail stock the seller should offer retail shelves or mini units if u buy bulk. u can buy simple shelves or units from wholesalers. but make sure its eye catching and constanlty changing so regular clients have different things to browse at each visit!
Hope this helps
xx

the likes of ikea and argos do nice display cabinets. I have my own salon where i have incorporated a unit from argos an other specific retail display units. Some of the display units are very expensive - which is why i looked at argos and ikea

hope this helps

fab idea single sparkle, thank you

Kate, Im allergic to salons, I feel highly intimidated lol, at the age of 40 you would think I would have a bit more confidence!!!!!!!

Off to look at the argos and ikea sites :)

the glass display cabinets from ikea are a great idea.
also, glass shelves look nice is space is short xx

Ikea do a tall, floorstanding glass unit with glass shelves. You can buy an additional light for inside (at the top) which give a gorgeous, illumated display.

When the glass is all polished and sparkly it tooks FAB as a display unit and will really show your products off at their best.

why not flick through a few trade magazines as they feature spas/salons.

also look online, you can even view salons on u tube.

glass cabinets with a light in are great and won't take up much room.
also floating shelves are good, you can get a set of 3 square ones from argos.

use glass beads, crystals, pebbles, shells etc to create more texture to your display. I've also seen feather boas with little fairy lights in them.

also don't have everything at one level, use small boxes or perspex shelves to create height.

i got 2 lovely white cubes which have batteries in and they change colour (and are completely cool), I don't often switch them on just using the size of them as part of the display.

thanks all, thats given me loads to think about xxx

Hope everyones ticking over in the January lull :)
