Hi, I am hoping you can help me. I am considering taking on a shop lease for a premises in South Oxfordshire, which has been a beauty salon. Although I will be using a fair percentage of the premises for other kinds of wellness therapy, I would like to capitalize on the local population awareness of its old usage as a salon and keep one room for beauty.
Here is my dilemma, I dont know any local freelancers who might like to take on a room, I'm not sure what beauticians will be willing to pay for a room and I dont know where to begin. I am thinking that maybe fascials, waxing, spray tanning manicures, pedicures, and relaxation massage would fit with my overall business model. I am not as interested in offering the electrical fascial treatments. Any suggestions on how I find out how much is a reasonable room rent and if its a goer ?

hi

yes room rental is often a good option for a beautician. I wouldnt be able to suggest figures as i dont know anything about your area, but maybe you could also a commision percentage whilst the person becomes established? This might be a more viable option for you both, and could be revisited after a few months? Just a thought........

Wish you were nearer to me I'm desperate for a room lol. As for rent around here its about £100 per week HTH

I found it really difficult to rent out salon space! Got lots of calls, but people had wierd ideas such as me guranteeing them a basic wage etc!
In the end I employed therapists, far better all round.
