Hi All!

Just was thinking of (new) things I want/ plan to do this year professionally, and wondered what you geeks have in mind professionally this year?

so far on my list are;
  • Learn to do hot stone massage
  • Paint my beauty room
  • Get some retail products/ items
  • Buy some corner shelves & put up (for retail stuff)
  • Get a new beauty trolley (awaiting delivery)
  • Do another beauty course (not sure what)
What (new) things do you want/ plan to this year?
Could be anything small or big!
Would be interesting to see what we all come up with!

Love Emma xx

Hi Emma, sounds like your on a mission this year - I hope it goes well, do keep us posted!

I've got a very intense make-up course with a top working artist booked in February wich I'm really looking forward to. For the latter part of the year (when I have recouped some more funds!) I would like to do some advanced waxing and advanced skincare training.

As for my salon, I need to refurb my main room/reception. Same colour etc, it's just getting a bit shabby and I would like to construct a nice pedicure station that is a little more comfortable for the client. I'm also having gas sent down to the salon (which is going to be a huge job & will inclued 20 meters of excavation, mud, mess, dirt, workmen & £££££'s) which will save on the electric heating bills in the long run.

So in a word a very expensive year so I don't anticipate paying myself a salary again this year but I keep telling myself that it's for the greater good!!!!!

This year has already been important for me as i registered self employed under 16 hours so i can go mobile..although i don't drive.LOL

Got my tanning kit & training

Got my Ezflow acrylic course on 22nd feb in Doncaster still need a model though and i'm doing the gel course aswell in march/april hopefully.

Might do massage at some point not sure!

I've desided that I need to work in a clinic, as I'm not getting many clients at home, especialy for massage which is what I specalise in. Went to see somewhere today and may start in March when someone else leaves, so fingers crossed!

I will finishing my level 2 beauty therapy end of Jan and have already sent application forms for a short 16 wk nail art course and and application from for level 3 beauty from September.
Im really trying to get some spare cash together to do my spraytan course asap.......and try and attract new nail clients.

My plans are to:
1. train in eyelash extensions (and then practice, practice, practice lol)
2. train in threading (need to organise my ILA first)
3. lay new flooring in my treatment room (being done this weekend, decorated in November)
4. get more organised and get all my records up to date

Already done a lash/brow tinting course last week. New couch arriving this week so will start offering that as a new treatment once my case studies are completed and I get my certificate.

I think 2010 is going to be a good year for us geeks.

Last year I started re-taking some of my courses, so I intend continuing that this year. I think it will enrich what I already do, so far I have re-taken 2 courses and will have repeated another next weekend.

I am hoping to convert my training room into a therapy cum training room which will be done this month, its just cosmetic as the landlady has already re-wallpapered so its just shelving and rearranging things.

Hope to travel more this year with training, just in the UK. maybe next year go international!

got a basic tanning kit, going to get training, hopefully in the next few weeks, really want to learn semi-P eyelash extention, know who I want to train with, jusy saving the pennies, have a few more courses I want to do also, Thia facial massage is one, love learning, always tring to get new clients, which is why I think its omportant to constantly train as not everyone wants the same thongs, busy year for a lot of us then!! x

well my goals for this year is :
  • get some training on semi permanant eyelashes (everyone keeps asking if i do them)
  • get minx in the salon and get it worded out there
  • build up my retail especially on tanning products
  • get frosting done on my windows for front of shop
Ohh i cant wait :)

This is gonna be the year I sell up and retire from the industry.

We had lots of changes last year with moving premises, but this year is all about driving forward so we have lots in mind.
Ive just completed a make up course and have training booked in feb for eyelash extensions.
We are going to be looking at joining forces with another company to expand the range of courses we offer.
We are having a stand at the Birmingham show so weve got that to plan for.
I would also like to take on another skin care range, and a fab make-up range.
Other than this, things like getting new flooring down in our classroom and getting more organised.
Oohh and would also like to get a member of staff.
Just a quite year me thinks lol.
xx

my aim this year is to get a client base established (only being going since October) extend that and learn the best way to do the 3 week manicure (greatful for any tips on either of these).
thanks
