Essie - same in Boots?

I tried searching to see if the following question had already been asked but couldn't find anything.

Essie nail polishes are now in a lot of Boots stores (I think they are in Superdrug in some areas too), does anyone know if they are the same as the professional polishes that we buy from stockists like Louella Belle? Or are they different in any way?

I believe they are the same except for a slight tweak to the packaging. Also there are some new shades which are retail exclusive

Surely the professionals should get the exclusive colours! Makes me feel they are not such a pro brand anymore
