Exfoliation hair product?

Hi
looking for advice, my son has a really flaky scalp which was never particularly bad but recently I need to wash his hair every morning to get rid of the flakes!!

Is there an exfoliating product I could use on the head or a special shampoo anyone could recommend?

depending on his age it may be best to talk to the doctor, my son has a bad scalp and he uses a tar/coconut oil based shampoo he was prescribed but it did have a specific lower age limit so its best if it seems serious to see the doctor.
You can buy Neutrogena T-gel or polytar from a chemist ( don't shoot me for suggesting a non-pro hair product!!) but again you may get these on prescription.
