Hi,
I don't mean to moan I just want to know if anyone feels like this. I have days where I am completely exhausted, my whole body aches and doing the slightest thing is hard work, its been going on for about a year and iv been back and forward to the Dr so many times I have now given up going, I think people think I'm just being lazy, but it is really getting me down. Does anyone else have this? I have no idea what to do.

I would suggest changing your GP for a start, if you know there's something not quite right you need to push for answers.
Have you considered being tested for food intolerances, changing your diet/ lifestyle?
Sorry I'm not a dr and certainly don't claim to know what to advise you but I just wanted to offer support :). Xx

Tjo, so sorry your feeling this way, as said before I'd change GP ASAP.

I felt like this for about a year too. Constantly visiting GP with real tiredness and feeling infected??? (flu like symptoms) eventually my GP sent a sample of blood to a city infirmary and it came back with a positive IgA (indicative of coeliacs disease) long process to get formal diagnosis but eventually got there.

I was surprised to find I had coeliacs are my symptoms were so vague and nondescript.

I hope you get to the bottom of this soon. Be very persistent with any nurses/doctors you see unfortunately it seems to be the only sure way of getting anywhere with the NHS.

I always feel the same, I think it's because I don't eat the right things and I don't exercise. But the more exhausted you are, the less you're going to want to exercise! It's just one big circle. :(

Ask your GP to check for thyroid problems as sometimes this can be a very common symptom x

Thanks for your replies I think I will change GP, it can't hurt.

It's worth bearing in mind that GP's are exactly what they say they are, "general" practitioners. They have a little bit of knowledge about a lot of medical issues, inevitably knowing more about the 'common' stuff and very little about the less common problems. Specialists know the detail....
Don't under estimate the impact of stress which can have a definite physical impact including lethargy and tiredness. However, maybe keep a diary for a few weeks listing symptoms, diet etc and when you return ask for a referral to a specialist. Changing your GP might just mean you have to spend months convincing them you're concerned.

Good luck.

I had a very similar experience and in the end I found and paid for an intolerance test with a reputable company (yorktest). It turned out I was intolerant to milk and yeast - after I cut it out of my diet completely for 6 weeks I could then gradually introduce the foods back. I honestly cant describe how much better I felt within just a week, it was remarkable. It cost £250 but it was worth every penny. HTH

I really hope you manage to get it resolved soon and as others said, it's important to speak to your GP. Perhaps request a referral for blood tests?

Best of luck x
