Hi All!

So within the last few days, someone I knew had acrylics on and ended up jamming her finger and breaking the acrylic off. As the acrylic came off, so did part of the nail around the cuticle/lunula, exposing the fleshy part underneath. The rest of the nail is still in tact. It doesn't really hurt, just sore from time to time. She's been keeping it clean and covered with either a hydro Seal or regular band aid and antibiotic ointment.

Her nails are extremely weak and fragile. Could this be the cause? What should she do?

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks!
Amanda

So first of all OUCH!!! How awful for her.
This is a contraindication so she needs to see doctor and follow what doctor says.
Obviously she should not have any nail products applied to this nail as skin is exposed.
She will have to wait until it grows out. She may even lose the whole nail in time.
Hopefully new nail will grow out. Might depend if there was any damage to the matrix.
