Hi.. I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem as me?
It takes me 50 mins to an hour max to do a set of overlays and an hour and 15 mins to an hour and a half for a full set of extentions with gel.. anyway what happens is, when a new client rings and asks for gel nails, I will ask if she wants extentions and she'll say no.. so I say so it's just an overlay you'd like which means gel applied to your own nails and they say yes.. so just to clarify I say to them so you don't want your nails any longer.. you're happy with the length and you would just like gel applied to your own nail?.. yes they say, so I allow 50 mins for that and when they come into the salon the first thing they say is "now I don't want these too long, just a little bit longer than what I have".. ooohh nooo!!!

Not all of the new clients have this problem, but I do find it's most of them... they just seem to find it so hard to understand the difference, so I find I have to allow an hour and a half for each client just in case.

Please tell me I'm not alone here:rolleyes:

Why don't you just ask them if they want to add any length to their nails or not instead of getting too technical for them? Clients do not understand our jargon. If they say no, and then they come in and have changed their mind you can remind them that you booked the time for the service they requested and not another service. It will make them think for the next time.

I suppose it is like a hairdresser asking if one wants a trim or a restyle? If you've requested a trim, then you would hardly expect the hair stylist to have booked the time for a complete restyle.

You are not alone .. no .. but clients do need teaching.

Hi,
My NNO clients usually change their minds when they look through my album and sees the nice nailart they can wear with longer nails, but I like a little break between each client to just breathe, so I always book 1 1/2 hrs for each client so it works for me.
Besides, since it happeneds a few times a WEEK I make lots more money with enhancements than just NNO´s, so I don´t mind!

Thanks for the reply.. glad to hear I'm not alone here
