Hey Skin Geeks,

I am a nail geek so need a quick bit of advice about my eyebrows. I pluck them myself, but was wondering what the recommendation of length is by the base of the outer eye?

I have quite a natural shape and only need to pluck just underneath, but I get a few strays along he top aswell, is it ok to get rid of these?

Sorry bout the pic, but thought it might help for you to see what they are like. (i have just done them!!)

Hi hun, general rule of thumb as tought in college is never pluck above the eyebrow as u can alter the natural shape, but like me and many others we often get these awkward hairs above the eyebrow that need removing to give a lovely clean overall shape.
Again the rule of thumb as toght in college is, if you get a wooden spatula and line it up with the edge of your nose and straight up that is were theoretically your eyebrows should start, but again some people have two or three hairs that seem to shoot straight up and the rest form a lovely shape, so these sometimes are removed but never more than a couple of mill more. In regards to were your arch should start, ideally it is in line with your pupil, but again some people prefer them thinner and they should end at an andle from the corner of your eye, it is often nice to taper this bit depending on your shape.
Your eyebrows look lovely , but i personally whould create a slight more curve to were your arch is begining if that makes sence. Hope this has helped and i am sure others will give u there opininion as we all work slightly differently:)

Ta hun, thanks for taking the time to pass on your wisdom!! Their is so much to think about when plucking!!

I don't want that permanently surprised look you know, nor a pencil thin brow as I don't think it would suit my face to have them thin.

I couldn't enlarge the pic but they look gorgeous to me (in the tiny pic anyway).

I specialise in brows and I'm a trainer for a chain of Brow Bars that are opening across the UK and I also run my own Become a Brow Queen (or king) courses.

I ALWAYS remove hair from the top, bottom, middle and wherever it needs removing. As a guide, a lovely length from the inner tip to the outer tip is 5cm. Generally..... Line up the inner edge with the inner corner of your eye and place the arch above the outer edge of the pupil and not the centre as this looks quite old fashioned and makes the eyes look smaller. To get the perfect brow, only use wax to remove the vellus hairs and stray hairs. Use tweezers to get the arch.

They look fab. Well done. If I could enlarge the picture, I could give you some more feedback. xxx
