I know on here we have kim lawless who is a specialist in waxing and wax training, but are there any facial specialists on here? i remember liking facials more than everything else at college and was told i was very good at the massage so i wanted to train in facials more if possible. Ive seen Anastasia Achilleos on youtube and think she has amazing techniques. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is it facials or facial massage that you are interested in?

I have learn't many styles of facial massage from basic facial massage to ayurvedic marma point massage, Indian face massage, crystal wand massage, hot and cold stone facial massage, plus about 8 types of massage linked to facials and just learn't kerala cranial massage.

would you like to learn how to do hands on facial massage or with tools?

Hi

I think I can safely say I specialise in facials. I have been doing them for over 12 years and am a resident facialist at a retreat I work in.

I do prescription (Eve Taylor) and holistic facials and I have developed a very holistic facial over the years. I incorporate ayurvedic and eastern principles in my facial, together with chakra balancing, indian head scalp massage and reiki for grounding down at the end of the treatment. I also have a unique product which I use in my facials which is authentic Thai rose quartz massagers. These are used at the end of the facial massage to cool the skin, contract the hair follicles and stimulate the blood. They are very popular with my clients.

I am always keen to extend my knowledge of facials and find new ideas. I think the main thing though is to absolutely love giving them.

I feel the same - i watcher anastasias techniques and thought they were amazing but i couldn't find anything on the web about training courses in her techniques . I have heard 1 treatment with her is £600 so i can only imagine what the training might cost if available!! The problem i found with it all is that the techniques she uses are nothing like how i was trained in college! i find that really annoying as for instance eye circles are supposed to be anticlockwise (outside in to nose and around) yet she goes over the eye in the opposite direction to clear the congestion?? I think she is right but we werent taught that way??

Hi Kamosa,
I personally use jade crystal rollers in some of my facials, the cool and aid lymphatic drainage.
I have heard of a few therapies using crystal rollers, is that where you got the idea from?
I also use crystal wands to apply pressure points and drain.

Hi
I got the idea when I was in Northern Thailand last year. They are used quite a bit in facial massage up there. I think the jade and rose quartz have similar effects on the skin.
