Please help me with the following statements, is it TRUE or FALSE?

The molecular structure of collagen is too large for it to penetrate the skin to the dermal layer.

There exists certain types of collagen that can penetrate the skin to the dermal layer?

For a collagen treatment to really work, it needs to make a change in the dermal layer of the skin?

The reason why I am asking is because I am thinking of incorporating collagen ampoules/veils in my facial treatments. I was trained to believe collagen treatments are a fad.

I also have believed that collagen molecules are too large to be absorbed by the skin. Hydrolyzed collagen is too tiny to do anything of note. (Unless any geeks know of any new technology). However collagen does have its place especially for its hydrating effects and this is how I would market it. ;)

As Essentia says, the importance of collagen in serious skincare isn't in trying to trick people into believing it replaces the natural collagen in the skin, but in it's ability to hydrate. Collagen can bind many times its weight in water & in forming a film over the skin will also help prevent water loss.
