As title say have my first client for pedi this week, at home I usually get client to sit on a comfy chair and I set up on the floor and use a small step stool to sit on and work with clients foot on my lap. All my at home clients have been people I know and I have felt ok doing the pedicure this way. This is a new client that I dont know and wondered if this seemed professional or should I adopt another position to work. I often get down on the floor on my knees to paint toes or apply gel lol, is that ok?

Thanks

Hiya, If im doing mobile then I usually make them comfy in an arm chair and work on the floor but I do take a small step with me to put their feet on to paint the nails as it just lifts them off the floor I find it helps... hth. Claire x

Sitting/kneeling directly on the floor really is not good for your knees and back. I had a stool until my son broke it, and more recently took a soft been cube which can work well. However with my last lady her sofa was low to floor and she found me a stool as she insisted i didn't kneel on floor. She is a physio therapist and said she couldn't allow me to work off the floor. And actually her little stool was perfect. I think it looks more proffessional if you have something for you to sit on. However i do know from exprience that it is not always possible.

You could both sit a dining room chair opposite eachother, i sometimes do this. Sitting on the floor is fine, but it won't help your back. Always think posture when you're treating :)
