I have just qualified and have my first customer doing infills on Sunday. Am soooo nervous! I have put on 3 sets of acrylics this week and so far for first attempts am doing okay, its just infills worry me as I think its so easy to get wrong!!! Eeeek.

Hi Hun,
Don't stress yourself.
Are these infills on a set you have done? Or are they on another tech's nails?
If they are on yours you have no problems, just folow what you have been taught, as you will know what products are already on the nails.
If they are from another tech, you need to ask the client what they have on their nails, (Most don't know). If it is a different product to yours there could be a slight colour difference, explain that to your client. All should be fine.
Best wishes.
Lotsa luv x x x  x x x

I know what you're saying! I'm in the same boat - have just done my course and have done 2 sets of acrylics on myself, 1 set of gels on my sis-in-law and a few manicures. My nails have been on for 2 weeks and am due infills. On my course we were told how to do it, but not shown (coz we applied the nails during the week so no infills were needed on anyone!).

I keep looking at mine and putting it off and thinking 'or should I just remove and do a new set?'. It's crazy! I'm gonna take a deep breath and (hopefully) do mine tomorrow. My sis-in-law comes back from hols tonight so will be interested to see how her gels have been and will probably remove hers and do a new set coz I wasn't 110% happy with her final result!

Good luck with your infills. I'm sure we'll both be fine - the first time is always nerve wracking, we just have to take our time! x

Absolutely shameful that any course for which you are accredited and presumably told you are qualified, does not include rebalancing and maintenance!!

On going maintenance to AVOID future problems is the most important single service we as professional nail technicians perform. How can anyone say they are qualified if they can't perform it??

Maintenance is should not be about FIXING anything .. it should be about doing the things needed so that clients avoid any problems with their nails between appointments Of course we do have to sometimes fix things during maintenance appointments, but our mentality should be about avoidance of repairs and not doing repars.

You are right to be nervous about maintenance, poster, because it is vital that you see and spot any areas that need attention so that no service breakdown occurs before the client's next appointment.

Look in the tutorials section for tutorials that outline the carrying out of correct maintenance proceedures.
