hey hun, welcome to salongeek, its great isnt it

i am just finishing my 5 day foundation (tomorow actually)

at the end of it, you will have all the skills you need to become a nail tech, then its practise practise practise, i am taking on paying clients , but at a reduced rate (discounted is what my leaflets say!!) until my speed comes down and my smiles are better lol, i wouldnt feel confident enough to go and work in a salon straight away , but some people do

as for the 'smart/casual dress', i panicked about this too, i asked on here soooo many times, i think i drove people nuts with my worrying lol

in the end on the first day i wore my white tunic and black pants and so did one other girl, some of the others wore mini skirts and ugg boots and some wore jeans (nothing was ever said to them) but the tutor has commented to me and the other girl who have dressed smartly and worn tunics/blouses and pants, said it looked professional and proved we took it seriously

HTHS

enjoy your course hun, you are gonna love it xxxxx:hug:

You can wear smart black trousers and a nice blouse or if you already have a salon uniform you can wear that,
what can you do after the 6th day ?
we cant really answer that one it all depends if you are a natural or like the most of us and have to work hard and practise our backsides off,
you will be able to offer nails to friends and family and charge them a reduced rate,
then when you are confident and have your speed up you can go onto working on the public and charge accordingly hth

Dear SvetaAnna,
Smart/casual simply meanslook tidy and professional (as opposed to baseball cap, jeans, midrigt showing etc. You don't have to wear a salon uniform unless you had one and wanted to!

After the 6 day Foundation+ Brisa you will have the tools and the knowledge to do nails but you will lack experience. This is a FOUNDATION course so think of it as your first steps into the industry with many more skill builders and master classes to come which will turn you into a true nail expert.

We suggest the Guild of Beauty Therapists for insurance as it is comprehensive and covers you for all areas and there is also info about this here on the site!

Hope this helps!

Thanks very much all of you for reply, much clear now:)

What a great new course, adding on the Brisa, I wish you well with it - the training is excellent:)
