Hi I have decided to send out Xmas cards out to my clients this year – is it OTT to send out a voucher enclosed in card say complimentary treatment or money off in month of January? Anyone ideas or am i being too generous!!

Don't give a free treatment, you'll be inundated with people and have no time to do paying treatments.

Instead offer something extra, not sure what treatments you do. But if you do nails for example offer a free Solar Oil with their next full set done in Jan. Or if its a facial, offer a small complimentary home use product after their next facial.

Or just offer an exclusive discount for treatments in January. Sell it as exclusive to existing clients, make them feel special.

:lol:I agree, dont give a free treatment away as I would assume the idea is still to make some money in January

Im going to give all my existing clients a lil goodie bag in December with a £5 off voucher to be used in january, Im a sucker for these kind of things, it may end up being a bit extravagant but I love my regular clients and they all deserve a treat for staying with me  Im not sure what Im putting in the goody bag, I understand that you need to keep it appropriate to the treatment but I specialise solely in lash extensions so Im going to have to go "off wall" with the goodie bag.

Actually just had a thought, Im doing a lash and brow tinting course next week so I may offer them a free brow tinting when they come in for there infills - works out to be about the same price then!!!

Rambling - sorry

Hi,

The salon I used to go to before I started doing all my own treatments used to give customers a £5 gift voucher in their Christmas cards, for use in January. I thought this was brilliant and I'd always end up using it.

I don't think you have to go too "off wall" for your goodie bag. You don't need to give too much if you are giving a voucher as well, so you could give a lip gloss or some glitter powder and a tiny hand cream. After all, it's all about prettying up.

I think a voucher is brilliant, but I always say a percentage voucher is better, because on a smaller spend, it's less off. For instance if someone spends £15 and use a £5 off voucher, they're getting a third off. With a percentage voucher they'd get a specific percentage off whatever they spend which encourages them to have a more expensive treatment.

Just remember to specify if it's for one or multiple treatments to make it clear from the start.

I've given all my regulars a mini solar oil and mini sensations hand cream in a little organza bag with a loyalty card (10 stamps and you get £10 off a treatment) and 5 spread the word cards ( new clients and current clients get discount on referrals) then in their xmas card which goes to all my clients is a voucher thanking them for their support in my first year of trading and giving them 20% off a treatment in jan and feb.

May seem a little extravagant to some but I am only new and home based so relying on all my lovely clients to recommend me to others.
