Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I have just done a short course to be a nail tech and really dont think i've been taught very well atall. Basically i've been shown how to do a manicure once and how to apply UV acrylic nails! A lot of people have been telling me that the UV system is the old type and most people use the acrylic that you don't have to cure. Anyway can't keep going on about it so i'm looking into everything myself as I don't have enough money to go on another course. I was shown how to apply the French White tips with pink acrylic over the top. Can anyone tell me about rebalancing a white tip - do you rebalance a white tip and if so how? Many thanks to you all Amanda x

welcome to the site Amanda. I can tell you now you will get probably many responses to this. Mainly because you invested in a poor quality course (it doesn't even sound like it was a course - a day). Also because on a decent Foundation Course you should cover all aspects of PREP, Application, Finishing techniques plus much much more INCLUDING re-balancing.

The girls on here will not be able to walk you through this (although the tutorials on here will help). You need to be taught properly and experience hands on application of great nails by 'doing'.

I would suggest you do your homework on great companies offering great education and then forget what you have done and start again.

I will be the first :) to tell you that CND offer Award Winning education and if you need info on course and about who we are... log on to www.sweetsquared.com

Hope this helps! If you are SERIOUS about becoming a great nail artist... then the advice I have given you is worth its weight in gold!:!:

IMO it seems to me that you have only been taught the tip of a very big iceburg.

I agree with Mrs Geek, you need to have a look on the Sweet Squared website and see the training that they offer. I know it may seem a little expensive, but in the long run will prove to be very cost effective.

I know it's harsh, but I think you will find that there are lots of these short courses out there that will take your hard earnt money from you for inadequate training, and a promise that you will be qualified Nail Technician after a day or two.

To be a good Nail Techician, you need proper training from a reputable Company, plus practise, practise and more paractise.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Amandajayne, I feel for you, it saddens me when I see people invest and the course under delivers:cry:. I agree with "Mrs Geek", please take her advice, it will be your best investment into your nail career.:)
