I know there is probably hundreds of 'which gel?' threads on here, and believe me, i've spent weeks reading probably all of them!

I've mainly looked at LeChat/Akzentz/IBD/NSI so far..... out of all the brands available these are the ones I've liked best, due mostly to their available range.

I thought LeChat was my best option, but can't get my head round the powdergel concept, no matter how hard I try!

My main points are...

A wide variety of colours, including shimmers and glitters, as my clients are mainly colourholics!

I'm not sure about one/three phase gel, or whether a soak off or file off gel is for me?

The variety of 'french' gels and coverage gels is a must. I want to be able to offer coverage pinks for nail biters, soft whites as well as well as bright whites too.

I'd like a range that has a lamp available too with a starter kit, as I'd be worried about compatability if I had to get a lamp seperately.

Good value for money obviously, especially with colours, as I'd want them all!

I'd value your opinion on your personal preferences if you use any of these brands, and how easy you find them to use.

Many thanks

Cor..... just looked back at it and I go on a bit don't I!? sorry! x x

Why not look at Creative Brisa gels? They have everything you want and it is a 'cracking good' system ... strong beautiful, completely colour stable ... gorgeous coverage geels and shimmer collection plus a collection of bold colours that can be mixd to create many many more.

PLUS there is a promotion on at the moment where you attend the class and can get the Brisa UV Lamp for 1pound!! You read it right, 1.00!!!

Call 08452106060 and ask about a class near you. Fantastic deal.

My two favorites are IBD clear sculpting and cuccio sculpting. For some reason cuccio seems to be a bit more aggresive - I've a couple of clients allergic to cuccio and not IBD.

I finish off cuccio with a wipe of acetone - even on tips - and find it comes up with an amazing shine and is very strong.

For a the french tips I use NSI white - it's got an almost rubbery finish (obviously can't be seen when covered with a clear) which helps them last longer.

It's hard to decide isn't it?? .. you have so many options!!

I've used LeChat Nobility and have to say it's very well priced and they are bringing out new colours soon. It's very easy to use and is a lovely natural looking gel and ideal for clients who prefer NNO.

I'm also using Brisa gel from CND (just waiting to do the course Geeg mentioned) and have to say I love that too, it's such a beautiful gel to work with and looks gorgeous and thin. Both gels are so different that you just couldn't compare them.

Is there a beauty show coming up in your area?... maybe you should wait 'till there is and you could try a few diffferent ones before you make up your mind.

Thanks, again! I've never looked at brisa, to be honest I thought it was quite expensive to start up. But on a further look Its quite affordable. I'm a sucker for colour and glitter. I'm going to ring and ask...

The pb north show isn't on til later in the year. I'm a bit reluctant to be off travelling, i'm seven months pregnant :green: I'm a complete gelphobe usually, must be my pregnancy hormones making me try new things.... I haven't picked up a gel brush since college a few years ago! Thanks so much for your opinions x

I've just rang and spoken to a lovely lady. I may as well go for the best! I'm booking this week, once i've sorted out a model, for the 9th april day, and I'm sacrificing my embarrassing old lamp :irked: They couldn't have been easier to deal with. I'm so excited! I just hope the chairs are comfy, i'll only have six weeks left hee hee. Thanks for everyone who helped me pick, ang geeg especially, for answering all of my posts this weekend!
