Gel polish ran away!

Hey geeks,

So I was doing a gel polish treatment today. I tried to build the apex with the colour, but it just ended up a big mess. The gel ran to one side of the nail and went all over the client's skin. Was I appliying it too thck, maybe?

Can you paint the colour gel on like polish, or must you build the apex with it? And if you do, how do you stop it running?

If you were going to build an apex, you would do this with your clear/pink, refine the shape and then apply the colour. I wouldnt build the apex with colour HTH

I agree with Deb's....you use your builder gels...clear or pink to create the shape....the colours are just for colour.

Once you have applied your clear pink...wipe and smooth/refine/shape the nails...then wipe and remove dust...then 1-2 coats of colour...gloss and done.
