Hello everyone,

I am a little concerned as to how I would go about first setting up a nail business. I currently work full time 37 hours as a secretary in a surgery. I am hopefully going to qualify as a bio sculpture technician when I take the assessment in October. What do you think would be the best route to go down. Should I try and rent a room or a table at a salon first, or would mobile be the best option as first starting out to get client base? Eventually in a couple of years or so I want to open up my own Beuaty Salon as I am also currently taking beauty course at college with my last year starting september. Any ideas welcome!! I know I will not earn a lot of money when I first set up. it would be ideal if my boss would let me go part time but thats never a possibilty!! Thanks for any advice.

Think long and hard about your deccison. Take into account the cost of things that you need. Research every option that is availble. If you are unable to do part time at your job, try mobile( if it dosn't make you tired). Maybe you could do mobile on a saturday and see how things go.
I don't know if this has been of any help.
Just think first, save a little money to back you up and see where you go.
Good luck

i have the same problem like u too.i've finished a nail course not long ago and i try to do mobile and see how it works.i agreed what they said.don give up the full time job first...let's see how it works for doing mobile.hope it helps!!good luck:hug:

Times are pretty tough at the moment, so don't make any hasty decisions. Only you know your financial situation, but be prepared to have a tough first year or two whichever route you choose. I am currently working 2 days in a salon, still doing a bit from home, but also working part time in an office, it means I work 6 days a week and probably will for quite some time, but I have to do it if I want to be successful. I am fairly confident that if I stick with it, I will succeed, but most of all you need to have masses of patience.
