Hair too dark

Hi all, I have a client who has had her hair coloured and she feels it is too dark. She said she would like an all over colour or some lowlights put through. She doesn't mind so long as it looks a shade or 2 lighter. At the moment she is a 4/5. She would like to be around a 6 do I need to strip the colour before applying target shade with a mild bleach bath? Just finished level 3 so I am continually questioning myself. Thanx

Have you considered a wee balayage.......?
I'd always consider the line of least resistance first!
