Well I've been a bit of a numpty. I signed up for the Great North Run ages ago but what with going on holiday, being busy at work and then a nice sunny week, I've not done any training yet and it's in 9 weeks this Sunday!

Is this even going to be possible?

I'm reasonably fit - cycle everywhere, do belly and ballet dancing etc, but I haven't done any actual running in months.

Am I just kidding myself, or can it be done?

It can if you start now. I did my first half 5 weeks ago, training was really sporadic due to illnes and unseasonal snow. Managed a 2.03 which aint bad at all. Go online and download a free training plan, and stick to it religiously from now on.
I have a 10k in 7 weeks and another half in 9 so am training like a demon. Just don't injure yourself pushing too hard too soon. If you have never run then start with 3 mile run/walks and build on it with two rest days. And remember to train your core so you dont murder your legs xx
