Ok - this is a bit long, but I'd love to hear others experiences.....

Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced, seen or been caught up in Crime?

just a few things thats happened to me -

Used to work in a bank, so had ID fraud in my face all the time, got loads of fraudsters at my till, BLATANLY trying to get money that was not thiers, called the police, they were there within mins and arrested these people in the bank! ( this happened loads)

Witnessed a Ram Raid of the Co-op over the road form my house 2 weeks ago - actually saw them drive the car through the side window of the shop, load it up and speed off, at 3am!

Woke up last year, mums car was gone, looked around the 'bad' area of luton, actually saw the car being 'stripped of parts' by some bloke! When the police turned up the 'criminal' towed the car away! (the police did get them though - with the help of the police helicopter!)

Seen someone stabbed in front of my eyes, in luton town centre, on a night out - after a fight, someone who was not even involved came up behind the bloke that threw the punch, and STABBED him in the shoulder with a knife. I ran around the corner, to find two coppers just 'standing there on duty' - they hadnt even heard the shouting. WTF?!! Gave statement, heard nothing else, though I suppose they couldnt tell me that.

Turned up for work one saturday, at the bank, and the whole road was taped off, with forensics officers scraping things off the pavement, was told I cant get into the building as there had been a murder, and the BODY was still round the back doorway. This has to be the worse one to date - poor man. There was blood everywhere, and it disturbed me for a long time.

Xmas eve 2 years ago, was in my local nightclub, and hubby was a copper back then, on duty. Went about my usual business, dancing the night away, when a small fight broke out... 2mins later men sprang out of nowhere, and it turned into a full scale riot, people got broken glass slashed across their faces, chairs were thrown at people, the bar staff just RAN. The whole club errupted, and alot of people were stabbed, and scarred, my friend got pushed to the floor and her head was trodden on, this lasted about 10 mins, the police and armed police then swamped the club, and my gorgeous hubby came running in, found me and my friend and carried us out. He didnt care about doing his job that night, he only cared about saving me from getting hurt. sniff. all emotional now.

So sorry for the LONG post, but I think Ive seen ALOT of violence and crime, and I'm only 21! - I'd love to hear what other geeks have experienced!

xxx

Good good, you have seen alot in your 21 years

I have 2, one being my car got broken into they had to walk right into my back garden and managed to keep quiet around 3 dogs, stole nothing!!

The other I was clubbing in Peterborough and was outside with 3 of my mates and 4 foreign blokes came up to us with knifes and took everything of us!! Never heard anything since but the police told us that night that they doubt they will ever catch them!!

Oh my god, I think you need to move!

Where I used to live I saw a gang of kids beating a grown man with a plank of wood, phoned the police and a couple of cars came out but they'd gone.
Whilst I was telling the police what happened the kids actually walked past and the police still didnt go after them!
We've only moved 5 mins drive away but I feel much safer, the kids round here only want to skateboard or play in the park.

Local gunshop, just half a mile down my road, was rammed a few weeks ago. Broke the metal grates over the windows and smashed the brick wall in a ford escorte I think and escaped in another vehicle with about four guns. The shop owner wasn't so concerned about the damage to his shop but rather what the crooks were going to do with the guns!

LUTON is lovely really !!!

Thankfully, Ive not ever heard of gun crime here in luton, but I think its only a matter of time...... it seems to be getting worse in my area.

Muggings are rife here too.

Another thing I forgot to mention, The London Bombers LEFT thier car in LUTON train station car park. I was walking up the road when the police detenated the bombs that were still inside. I'm scared to death that there will be a bombing in Luton at some point too.

'Lady's of the night' ahem, are everywhere too, one even had the cheek to ask my hubby if he 'Wanted Any' WHILE I WAS WITH HIM!!!! God, I had to restrain myself!

I do think I need to move!!!

Wow thats a long list!!

I saw a bouncer beat a guy up unprovoked outside a nightclub, once the fella was on the ground he kicked him in the face, I can still here it

Witnessed shoplifters a few times too,

Only other time was when I was beaten up after a night out by some psycho of a woman, she was huge. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me and as my head went towards the plate glass of a shop front I just remember thing 'please dont break please dont break'. She left me with half my hair missing, two black eyes cuts and bruises and bruised ribs. The police did come later to my flat but said if I pressed charges she would go to court, see me there and come after me. My partner went mental as it was clear they just didn't want the paperwork or hassle.

Thats disgusting. Thankfully I've never actually been badly beaten up - though I was bullied at school and got a few 'slaps' and shoves. You poor thing. Thats awful. Police need to buck their ideas up. :irked:

I visit Luton on and off as my father in law lives there, I must admit I am always a bit wary when walking home at night back to his place, but thought that was probably just my paranoia after living in the country all my life.

Love

That's awful, not really what a victim wants to hear, maybe they already knew her.

I've been involved in a couple if incidences the worst ones were when I use to work for the council at two sports centres!

1st

I'd just turned 17 and was working as a life guard and we were shirt staffed, and we had to set up for a big gymnastics event so that left about 3/ 4 of us down by poolside, anyway cutting a loooooonge story short, we caught a theif in the staff room 3 of us tried to restrain him and I ended up get bashed into all the lockers, dorrway, chocked and smacked in the face, then I got jammed in the doorway to the staff room, where a crowd was now gathering, with him and other staff trying to get out and all the spectators trying to push us back in! I eventually got out, it took police 15 mins to respond - station is 2 mins away!! - 6 painful years later I had an operation to shave my collor bone as I had an impinged rotor cuff due to this incident.

2nd

At ANOTHER sports centre I was working as a gym instructor and there was a call out for all available staff, when I got up to reception there was a MASS Brawl!! Some staff piled in and broke the fight up, I spoke to 1 of the lifegaurds who was stood to one side, she reviled that she was hiding a about 6 inch knife that 1 of the brawls had dropped in the cafe. As I was the 1st first aider on site I had to chek the 1 fella who was being attacked was ok, (he didn't speak any english) I got him to sit down as he looked pale, he took his jumper off and he had some blood on his shirt, as I investigated he'd been stabbed 7 times, by the time I'd fininshed with him he looked like a mummy!!! anyway he got take to hospitail where they found out he'd got a puctured lung, it went to court - he got sent back to his country - they were all asylum seekers! - and the two fellas that that attacked him were sent to prison instead of being deported

This was all because he's not scored a goal when they were playing 5-a-side!!!

I was just wondering if the guns had gone to Luton!
Two of the scariest thing happened to me when I was living in Philadelphia with my hubby before we were married. We lived on a hospital site close to a uni campus in West Philly (a dodgy area to say the least) and we decided to go for a leisurly walk after dinner. We were 100 yards from home when this guy with an German Shepherd stops us and tries to stike up conversation. He tells us that our watches look nice:eek: and where did we get them? Not wanting to anger him we politely said we had had them a while (they were nothing special), bid him a good evening and turned around in the direction we had come and said we should be getting home. With this he commanded his dog to move several yards in front of us and sit and block our path:Scared: . At which point I needed a change of underwear! We told him what a well trained dog he had and how obedient he was and made for our front door and never went for an evening stroll again!! No crime there but it was pretty unnerving.
The other time was when I was travelling by underground at 11pm to get home to West Philly from my evening shift at Thomas Jefferson Hospital. My hubby never met me at the station to walk me home and on this night some young guy HIGH ON DRUGS chose to sit on me, not next to me, but ON me out of all the empty seats in the carriage. I got up and moved and he continued to stare at me. I was really scared because my thought were on how I was going to make it safely to my home through dark deserted streets with this guy on my tail. No mobile phones in those days! Would you believe that as the train pulled into the station, my hubby was waiting on the station platform. He had thought he would come and meet me that night. I think the Good Lord was looking out for me. Again, no crime, but very scary.

When used to live in Harlesden we there was house just opposite us that used to always be filled with guns. One day there was some shot fired and the whole street had to to stay lock in all day while the police marks men covered the roofs and hid in corners with thier dogs.

Th evicar got stabbed at the end of our road a feww months back.

I have seen alot of crime do not want to go into to much detail
I
Just some of the things I have seen

I have seen a man trapped inside a delivery van while it was being robed then pulled out and beaten.

I have been looking after a child to find out that night that his mother had stabbed his father to death.

I have seen the riots, where a post office was burn down along with the inside of a church.

I have seen lots of people been beaten up.

I have seen a women have ear ring ripped out of her ears.

I have seen some one throw there self trough a window.

I have seen a five month pregnant women be glassed in the throat. ( This one was at my wedding)
.

Apart from the one above
This is where I used to live, (apart from the one last one above) all before I turned 17, the place I live now is in a village I get told all the time that is ruff, but if they came from where I came from they would be grateful for what they have.

They did, but to me that feels even more wrong. Surely you'd think then she's obviously dangerous and needs locking up. I often wonder what she went on to do next.

this is a sore subject for me at the moment...
I live facing a small nightclub and early last year a fight took place outside...I looked out the window and only seen the aftermath the police and ambulance were already there..
...to cut a long story short someone was very seriously injured and there ended up being a courtcase and I was called as a witness(dont know what for I didn`t see anything that happened) I was ill on the day I was needed in court so spoke too someone there and was told I didn`t have to go...anyway 3 days later there`s a knock at my door,it was the police to serve me with a court order for being in contempt of court..I ended up with a 3 month prison sentence luckily suspended for a year..but now I have a criminal record and have been really ill with all the trauma..and now have to travel too london too for the court of appeal to hear my case...all for looking out of my window:confused: anyway in answer to the thread have I ever witnessed a crime NO!!!

OMG Karen, you poor thing.

Don't get me started on the injustice of it all, i'll never stop... it doesn't seem to make any sense, someone who deserves to go to court and the police suggest not to press charges, and you end up with a criminal record for what??? unbelievable!!!!
