Just wondered if you geeks have any suggestions as to where I could get a mask brush tomorrow morning (Sunday) as I have a client in the afternoon and mine has disintegrated on me when cleaning it tonight - argh!

I can't think that any of the high st shops will sell them and the only thing I can think of is that I have some make-up brushes which I have never used - do you reckon any of them would work as a one off until I can get another one?

I can apply the mask with my hands but it just feels more professional to use the brush and I find it easier for applying it too.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
xx

A lot of professional product suppliers dont use brushes to apply masks.Indeed mine doesn't .If it's really an issue for you use a foundation brush or a sponge. The client wont feel any difference.

I always apply my masks with my hands.I think for the client it feels much nicer.Try it on yourself brushes are cold and prickly. You also use more product because it absorbs into the brush whereas you can get rid of every last bit on your hands i always wipe any bits left right down the decollette.
Just do it with a bit of finesse and routine rather than just kind of dabbing it on.
Brushes are also difficult to clean and sanitise unlike your hands another reason not to use them.

So true to the above... and when I did my product training we used simple spatulas to apply the masks, be they plastic or wooden. They did the job just as well and did not feel uncomfortable or out of place.

use a blusher brush for the facial. I sometimes use a mask brush and sometimes I use my fingers.
But what I always always always check is the softness of the bristles before I put product onto it. I have had the misfortune of having a facial in a spa and the brush was very very scratchy.

Thanks so much for your replies will have a look at the make-up brushes I have and see which feels softest.

If I was going to apply with fingers, do you do in sections/any particular order and if so any tips for making sure it doesn't feel fumbly? I was only taught with a brush at college and whilst I don't mind applying with fingers I don't feel confident doing it.

Thx

I use my hands for masks i start from the chest and work my way up really . i use a spatula for masks that set thou.

Thanks to all for your replies, used a foundation brush! Seemed to work OK, no complaints from the client anyway.

Thanks again x

even a paint brush from a art and crafts shop would be good suggestion i know its a bit late sorry
