hi im a nail geek just popped over to ask some advice. i had blonde highlights over a long period of time and decided to go back to my own colour which is medium dark brown so had a hairdresser who dyed it for me but after a while i had bleachy pathes showing through so i bought a home colour which said dark brown and it went black:eek:so i waited a few weeks and bought a redish medium brown but it did nothing but make my roots a lovely redy colour. so my question is this how can i get a nice light brown/red in my hair or am i doomedxxx

Hi Audrey, no its certainly not doomed
but you need to go and have a colour correction done properly by a hairdresser who specialises in this field

also you could think about booking in with the level three hairdressers at your local college
they are all fully qualified hairdressers and all fully supervised by the tutors
and it may not be as expensive as a salon
I am sure they will be able to help
but it may take a couple of appointments if there is a lot of dark in it ,
hope this helps  minky

The reason why this is happening is that different colours of hair and differant levels of dryness( or porosity ) which can affect the outcome . Thats why you need to get a hairdresser or a hairdressing studant to do it , because it probably needs two maybe 3 mixes of the same colour ,differant strengths etc . It does sound like your on the home run now though so i dont think it will be such a problem for much longer .
