Hey! Can someone please help me? I dropped a box on my nail last night when I was looking for something and it cracked my fake gel nail and my real nail underneath. It was bleeding a lot and hurt so much. However, my fake gel nail is still hanging onto my real nail. What should I do? I cleaned it and put some neospirin on it with gauze and a Band-Aid. Should I have the nail tech remove my fake gel nail and let my real nail heel or should I try to have my nail tech push the crack back together?? Please help I want my nail to grow properly and I do not want any infections. I have attached some pics for your reference. Thank you so much for your help xoxo

I’d imagine that will be too painful to remove just yet. I’d get nail clippers and clip the sides to reduce the length as this will stop it moving and causing more pain then leave it taped up until it’s healed enough to have it removed.

I would try and cut as much off as you can yourself, it is probably gonna hurt. Then I would tape it down so you can’t catch it as easily, trying to remove it now is gonna to seriously hurt so let it heal as much as you can before removal

Thank you everyone for the comments. It was not hurting as much today and I banged it again and it was easily to take off the hanging cracked piece so now I wrapped it in gauze and a Band-Aid to let it heal and stay clean
