I decided that I wanted a career change and wanted to learn how to be a nail technichian so after finishing my manicure and pedicure course, I enrolled on a gel course at my local college. I'm 3 weeks of finishing my gel course but the results are nothing like on here. Our lecturer is not much help, we haven't gone over half of the things i've already read on here and the gel we use is only lasting 2-3 days before lifting, splitting and looking awful. Can anyone suggest any decent products I could try or recommend any other courses I could do as I really want to do this as my new career.

If I were in your position I would contact creative nail design and get booked on a foundation course with them, I think they last about 5 days. Then I would do the cnd Brisa converison course!

good luck xx

Hello

I qualified recently in gels, and did my training with NSI. I found a local lady who is an NSI trainer and stockists of their products. I really like the Balance gel system, easy to work with and if I ever need to ring my trainer or NSI directly for anything, they're really helpful. I'd definitely recommend them, check out Home - Nail Systems International (UK). Hope this helps!

ok firstly.. 3 weeks before i finished college my nails looked nothing like they do now.. because it takes tume and practise and perseverance!!

secondly get the basic skills you need from this place and then look into further training with a company you have decided on after researching..

Most of the techs on here have spent a fortune to get the skills they have and a hell of alot of time learning by mistakes.. if you think you should be churning out nails that are of some of the class here.. in the time you have been training.. then you are not in the right job..

slow down.. take a breath.. and enjoy the learning.. dont doubt your trainer too much..Im not sure you should be looking too far forward yet.. you still have 3 weeks to go!
