Hi All,

I am new to the site so be gentle!!

I am using NSI gel products but have a couple of clients who I just do a manicure for. What would you recommend as the best product for using over polish on non-enhanced nails to keep them really strong?

I'm not sure I am supposed to use Glaze n go or thermoshield...no details on their website??

Thanks
Amz

Hi! :)
Why not offer them natural nails overlays ;) - keeps them strong and the polish stays longer.

Yeah, Thats a good idea, If I did this would I just prepare the nail then apply a layer of builder gel, polish then top coat? or polish then the builder gel?

Thanks

Can't help with your question hun, I'm strictly L&P but I wanted to say,
Big welcome to the site:hug:

I guess that depends upon your system but basically you apply 1 thin layer of builder gel instead of three (at least I do it that way with my material). And then you apply a layer of gel on the underside of the natural nail's free edge - that 'wraps' the nail.
And then you use polish on top of it.

Hi Amz, welcome:hug:
Manicure clients: to strengthen their nails you need a good "Base" strengthening coat, - my personal favorite is CND "Toughen Up" - it is a treatment base coat that promote cross linking of the top few layers of the natural nail plate. Then continue with 2 coats of enamel and a top coat.
Clients need to help themselves as well by following a homecare programme.
3 Keys to caring for natural nails
- Oil daily
- Manicure
- Keep them coated

Glaze n Go and thermoshield are products designed for nail enhancements.
Glaze no Go over L&P or Gel only and Thermoshield over polished enhancements.

A natural nail overlay is a great recommendation. You could also look at doing NNO with soak-off gels, like the new Illusion.

Neither Glaze 'n Go or Thermoshield will work on natural nails, sorry!

these are all great suggestions so far, which nsi gel system are you using? I havent started using Illusion yet, but if youre using Balance, one step works great for nno's. i prep, use balance bond, brush on a very thin layer of one step, cure, then apply another layer, cure. then the finish of your choice!:) you'll make BANK offering this as an add-on service to mani's or pedi's!

Welcome to the site!
