Hi,

I work in an aveda salon and only ever worked here since I trained. I have a client booked in for home hair wanting balayage/ombré she is already blonde so it would be the case of a root drag sort of thing a colleague told me to get base 6/7 but natural no tone. My client is about a base 6 and I’ve got a 7 at home already so do you think using that and then buying some 6 would be okay? What would you guys recommend?

Sounds a good plan.
If there’s not much natural root showing, you’re better off going very slightly lighter than her natural and smudging it so when her hair grows, there’s not such an obvious dark line between her colour and her roots and it continues the ombré look.
